On August 26, Wang Xiaofang, Deputy Director of the China Building Materials Industry Planning and Research Institute, and Chen Lin, Senior Researcher at SDIC Innovation Investment Management Co., Ltd., led a delegation to Luoyang NorthGlass High-temperature Electric Kiln Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary controlled by NorthGlass, to gain an in-depth understanding of the potential of High-temperature Electric Kiln technology for energy conservation and carbon reduction in the building materials industry. Feng Mingsong, General Manager of NorthGlass High-temperature Electric Kiln, together with his core team, warmly welcomed the delegation and accompanied the visit throughout.

Feng Mingsong introduced the delegation to the development history and technological positioning of NorthGlass High-temperature Electric Kiln. As an important strategic initiative of NorthGlass in the field of thermal engineering equipment, the company focuses on the R&D and manufacturing of electric-heating kilns. Leveraging NorthGlass’s accumulated expertise in glass deep processing, triturbo fan technology, and other equipment fields, the company is progressively advancing the commercialization of High-temperature Electric Kiln technology in specialized segments including foamed ceramics, sanitary ceramics, and architectural ceramics.

During the meeting, the NorthGlass team presented its latest technological advances in electric-heating kiln systems. The world’s first three-layer, single-chamber roller kiln features an AI-based intelligent temperature control system and an internal high-temperature fan circulation and airflow control design. Temperature uniformity inside the kiln is controlled within ±1°C, while the product yield remains consistently above 95%. Compared with conventional gas-fired kilns, the equipment reduces overall energy consumption by more than 60%, with electricity consumption of finished products as low as 0.78 kWh/kg. At the same time, it significantly increases production capacity while reducing the required footprint.

The delegation spoke highly of NorthGlass High-temperature Electric Kiln’s technological capabilities and achievements in energy conservation and carbon reduction. Both sides agreed that the “green electricity + electric kiln” model represents an important pathway for large-scale adoption of electric kiln technology. Establishing production facilities in western regions with abundant wind and solar resources would enable the local consumption of green electricity, with electricity costs potentially falling below RMB 0.30 per kWh. Combined with carbon allowance revenues from the carbon trading market, the economic advantages of High-temperature Electric Kiln technology over its entire lifecycle are expected to become even more pronounced.

The two sides also agreed to leverage the national-level think tank capabilities of the China Building Materials Industry Planning and Research Institute to jointly establish a platform for promoting energy-saving and carbon-reduction technologies, accelerating the broader application of High-temperature Electric Kiln technology across the building materials industry.

Taking this visit as an opportunity, NorthGlass High-temperature Electric Kiln will continue to deepen cooperation with national think tanks and industrial capital, accelerate the iteration of High-temperature Electric Kiln technology and market expansion, and contribute NorthGlass’s expertise and capabilities to the green and low-carbon transformation of the building materials industry.
