NorthGlass Crafts the “Ring of Glory,” A Shining New Landmark in Lingang, Shanghai
Recently, the construction of the “Ring of Glory,” the core landmark of Dishui Lake Financial Bay in the Lingang New Area, has been largely completed and is expected to officially open in 2026. This futuristic, giant circular building is set to become a new urban icon of Lingang, sparking great anticipation among citizens and visitors alike. The landmark’s signature circular observation platform is equipped with a seven-layer laminated IGU curtain wall system, fully developed and manufactured by NorthGlass.

The “Ring of Glory” features a bold and visionary design, resembling a massive golden ring “floating” above the city. To bring such an extraordinary concept to life, the glass curtain wall—the architectural “skin”—had to meet exceptionally demanding requirements. For this project, NorthGlass produced ring-shaped curtain wall glass panels with a remarkable single-panel size of up to 7 meters. A total of 192 pieces of low iron, seven-layer laminated IGU were used.

With outstanding structural strength and exceptional transparency, the glass ensures both the breathtaking visual impact and the safety of the observation platform. Advanced tempering and lamination processes enabled the glass to perfectly conform to the complex curves of the ring-shaped structure, achieving a seamless integration of design and functionality. Visitors ascending the platform will enjoy an unparalleled experience, safely overlooking the vast scenery of Dishui Lake and the East China Sea.

Through forward-looking technological innovation and superb craftsmanship, NorthGlass overcame a series of challenges, including large dimensions, multi-layered composite structures, and irregular installation requirements. Ultimately, the company transformed the architects’ vision into reality. Looking ahead, NorthGlass will continue to deliver glass solutions that perfectly blend technology and artistry to the global market.
