When entering the workshop of Luoyang NorthGlass Taixin Fan Technology Co., Ltd. (simply called as Luoyang NorthGlass Taixin hereinafter), there was no oppression feeling caused by heat.

In the workshop, a welder, Zhao Qiang, was doing his welding work, wearing protective suit. He pointed at the HVLS on the top of the factory and said, “You can see that our protective suits are with long sleeves and long pants. Without the HVLS fan, our sweat run down like raindrops during work in summer; With the fan working, we hardly felt the heat even in dog days of summer.”

This HVLS fan weighs 127 kg with a diameter of about 7m. The power of such a big fan is only 1.5 KW, and its RPM is only 50, while the wind covered area of the fan can reach 2,000 m2.

Fan Yong, the project leader of Luoyang NorthGlass Taixin, introduced that, this kind of “High volume, Low speed” performance was uniquely designed together by Belgium WMC and NorthGlass. The aerofoil-shape fan blade can minimize the running resistance and convert electrical energy into air kinetic energy at maximum efficiency, which brings an easier way for three-dimensional air supply. The HVLS fan can make air vertically flow towards the ground, then form a ventilation wall reaching a height of 1m–3m, thereby greatly increase the wind covered area to simulate the natural three-dimensional air supply system.

In addition to the advantages of high volume and good cooling effect, the HVLS fan also shows excellent energy-saving effect. Take a 10,000 m2 plant for instance, 5 HVLS fans needed equals to 56 normal small fans. Taking 4,000-hour normal running for calculation, the electricity cost can be saved by approximately RMB 750,000 by using HVLS fans.

However, such obvious economic effect of HVLS fan didn’t bring successful marketing in return in the last few years. Fan said,“When we took this fan product around for nationwide exhibitions, lots of people showed their interest, but dared not to try it out. In the face of new things, people often stay conservative.”

After two-year persistent product promotion, especially with more and more manufacturers putting this HVLS fan into use, more public praise finally brought bigger sales volume. Fan said,“The total sales volume last year increased by more than 200% compared to that of previous year, and the sales volume the first half of this year increased by another 200% compared to the corresponding period of last year. Right now the workshop is in full production, and ” He told that right now the workshop was in full production, and the production capacity will be further expanded in the next half year to meet market demand.”

At the end of the interview, we were told by another exciting good news: Deppon Express (domestic logistic giant) signed a long-term cooperation agreement with Luoyang NorthGlass Taixin, planning to use HVLS fans in its nationwide warehouses.
